Generation Air

 DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery – 28 September 2014 – 11 January 2015

Come and see our newly commissioned exhibitions showing as part of the Generation Project. This sensory exhibition is specifically for family audiences.

Blood and Bone – Gallery 1

Spacecadets have taken inspiration from human biology and the artworks are inspired by cells and organisms inside our bodies.  You are invited to explore, listen to and touch a series of giant breathing tunnels and caves indicative of body organs, blood cells and bone.

 Microbes – Gallery 2

Climb through a glowing landscape of shapes and light, get busy and watch what unfolds. Inspired the beautiful microscopic imagery of bacteria and cells that live within us this brand new family focused exhibition is full of delightful, unexpected happenings.

Generation Air is an experience not to be missed.

The exhibition is part of a series of four family friendly exhibitions which have been funded through Arts Council England’s Strategic Touring Programme. The Generation project has been organised through a partnership of four arts organisations – Ashton-under-Lyne Art Gallery; Berwick Visual Arts; Durham Art Gallery; Towneley Hall,
